Any type of full-suspension bike: Trail, Enduro, DH, or even an E-bike.
The brake arm keeps the suspension active, even when the brakes are applied. Another benefit is that anti-rise is to be adjusted independently without affecting the bikes other kinematics. Having this option allows for the braking performance to be tuned for the rider's preference or trail. Allows for adaptability and maximizing bike fit.
Almost everything can be changed. Wheel size, headtube angle, suspension travel, water bottle mounts, wheel spacing, chainstay length, reach, seattube length, frame color, etc. Let me know what you are thinking, and we should be able to find a great solution. Send me a message through the contact form or on Instagram!
Raw frames will take between 4-8 weeks. Powder coat adds about 2 weeks to the timeframe.
The bike should be in a good spot right away because it will be built specifically to you. The frames have many adjustments built into the bike, the adjustments should allow for a range to fine-tune the frame for exactly the feel you are looking for. If that is not enough or would like two completely different style of bikes (Example: 29er 165mm enduro bike and a mullet 200mm dh bike), I can provide extra rocker links, pull links or dropouts. The whole goal is to maximize the bike performance or you!
A powder coated Custom frame in the current layout is $3,300 USD + tax & shipping. A double coat powder coat for special colors and finishes starts at +125 USD. There are stock colors the powder coater can use, but also they can custom order any of the thousands of colors from prismaticpowders.com.
Gearbox frames are the same price, and I can acquire the gearbox system for you. Gearbox price is separate.
If interested, I can can make something completely different than I have made. Send me a message and we can discuss cost.
Frame, Axle, UDH, a 0mm Dropout and 10mm Dropout.
Leverage Ratio: Most bikes have four progression settings. I will influence the leverage ratio depending on the bike and the desired ride characteristics.
Anti-squat: Hovers around 130% at sag in all gears. The idler is on an eccentric plate that allows for increased or decreased anti-squat. Don't worry, the high anti-squat does not affect the suspension performance because the frame has very low pedal kickback
Anti-rise: Most bikes have an anti-rise value of around 70%. This keeps the suspension active and chassis balanced while on the brakes. The brake arm length will increase anti-rise when lengthened and decrease anti-rise when shortened. If you want to increase anti-rise to 130% the arm can be mounted to the main pivot to test this setting (a longer arm might be required).
Pedal Kickback: Pedal kickback is minimal in the descending gears and is actually negative in gears below 20t. This significantly reduces the effect the chain has on the suspension.
Axle Path: A high-pivot layout allows for the rear wheel to move back and up out of the way of bumps, reducing accelerations transmitted to the rider.
Transmission Drivetrain: only works with +10mm dropout or longer, not an issue but should be planned for
Derailleur Hanger: UDH
Headset Cup Size: 44mm top and bottom
BB: 73mm threaded BSA
Seattube Clamp: 34.9mm
Rear Brake Mount: 200mm
Top Shock Spacing: 40mm Bearing Mount
Lower Shock Spacing: 25mm mount
Shocks: Most shocks have no clearance issues (Fox, Ohlins, Rockshox, Vorsprung). If it is an irregular shock, please let me know so I can make sure there are no potential issues.
Seatpost: 30.9 or 31.6 diameter. The seat tube is unobstructed to the bottom bracket.
I can give a coil spring recommendation based on your exact bike for your weight.
A gearbox frame has no upcharge.
I can source the Pinion Smart Shift gearbox system, but it is an added cost.
I can make a gearbox mount with a threaded bottom bracket mount for a standard drivetrain. The system would be plates to replace the gearbox, but a bottom bracket would mount to the plate. The bottom bracket would be mounted eccentrically, so there would be multiple positions for the center of the BB. This adjustment acts as an eccentric bottom bracket and would be able to adjust bb height, reach, or both. I can make new plates with a different center position for a change larger than what eccentricity would allow.
Pull Links: I can make a second set of titanium or steel pull links to change the rear wheel size or BB height.
Dropouts: Modular dropouts at different lengths and BB heights.
Brake Arms: Brake Arm lengths can be changed to adjust anti-rise, but the stock ones have threaded length adjustment built in.
Stiffness Bridges: 2 will be included, the 1 at the stock thickness, and one thinner bridge. The bridges can be shaved down to increase compliance. If more bridges are desired, reach out to me, and we can figure something out. Different materials, thicknesses, or shapes are possible.
